Benjamin David Viney

Hello! I'm an artist currently studying a two year extended national diploma and am planning to go to university next year. Although I'm a young artist I have already been lucky enough to have the opportunity of working at the Tate Modern on the Uniliver Tate modern Series. The reason for starting up this blog is because I have arrived at the end of my course and have begun my Final Major Project. This blog is designed to showcase my final piece which will be exhibited in May at the Chatham Historic Dockyard in Kent.

My current project is called ‘Seeing Double’ and is looking into four main concepts Multiplication, Collection, Repetition and Reflection.

Repetition

Paper Swirls

This is one of the first piece that I experimented with, the basic idea was to take strips of paper and fold them into varying curved forms. Then I combined the forms to make one single piece. The piece its self is reminiscent of natural lines and curves that can be found within elements of nature. The natural forms is an interesting concept that I am looking into exploring.
